NYS Office of
Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation EPF Grants
The Village is currently working on a project with funding received
through two Environmental Protection Fund grants from the NYS Office of
Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation (NYSOPRHP). Approximately $400,000 of work will be
completed over the next six months, with 50% of funding from NYSOPRHP and
50% funding from the Village
of Williamsville. Work to be done includes clapboard repair
and painting on the back and northern end of the Mill, removal of two sheds
on the northern rear portion of the building, stone re-pointing at the base
of the main building, roof replacement on the north wing, and some other
structural repair work. The design
specifications were completed by Flynn Battaglia Architects, and based on
the Historic Structures Report completed in 2006 (see below). Work under the contract is being
completed by Telco Construction Co., Inc. out of East Aurora, NY.
A third EPF grant has also been received through NYS Office of Parks,
Recreation, and Historic Preservation to complete the balance of the work
outlined in the Historic Structures report.
The intent at the current time is to complete that work during the
2012 construction season.
Re-Development of
the Williamsville Water Mill
Spring 2012: Iskalo
Development revealed its initial proposal for the Williamsville Water Mill
property at a meeting with the Village Board of Trustees and the Mill
Committee on Monday, December 19, 2011.

Spring 2011: Two proposals for the
redevelopment of the Williamsville Water Mill property were received by the
Village. After review of both, it
was determined that the proposal by Iskalo Development Corporation was of
significant interest to the Village Board of Trustees. At their December 13, 2010 meeting, the
Village Board passed a resolution authorizing the Village Attorney and
Preservation Studios LLC to begin negotiations with Iskalo Development
Corporation on a preferred developer agreement. There are still many
details to be worked out as to the specifics of a future arrangement. Monthly progress reports will be given by
the Village Board to the public.
Information will be updated on this process as it progresses.
