On Tuesday, August 17, 2010, a referendum will be held
to determine whether or not the Village of Williamsville

The Petition:

The referendum is the result of a petition that was submitted to the Village Clerk on June 2, 2010.  That petition was verified by the Village Clerk on June 11, 2010.  Details include the following:

  • The petition contains 607 signatures
  • 337 signatures (10% of registered voters) were required to bring forth a referendum
  • 553 signatures were verified
  • 54 signatures were not verified for the following reasons:
    • 14 resided outside the Village of Williamsville
    • 34 could not be confirmed on the list of registered voters provided by the Erie County Board of Elections
    • 2 signed the petition twice
    • 1 listed a PO Box ad their address and the name could not be verified
    • 3 residents who signed the petition have submitted a signed, notarized statement requesting that their name be removed from the petition

The Referendum:

There are 2 election districts in the Village

District 1 – the entire area north of Main St.

District 2 – the entire area south of Main St.

Both districts will vote at Williamsville Village Hall, 5565 Main St.

Hours of voting are from 12:00 noon until 9:00 pm.

Please note:  Districts, polling locations, and hours of voting are consistent with the last Village election, held in June 2009.
